Rowland qualified from Oxford University and is a specialist academic registrar in radiology with a subspecialty interest in uro-radiology. He has previously worked on image-directed treatments and in particular HIFU. He ran a phase II trial assessing extracorporeal HIFU in liver and kidney tumors and has more recently evaluated the role of HIFU in prostate cancer.
